These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Markdown Converter mobile application (the "App") for iOS, published by Evgeniia Vorontsova, an individual developer based in Serbia ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction, or use the App under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms. By using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

3. The Service

The App converts documents between formats such as Markdown, Word, PDF, HTML, RTF, EPUB, OpenDocument Text, plain text, and images. Conversion runs on your device. Output quality depends on the source file; complex, damaged, or unusual documents may convert incompletely.

The free tier includes a complimentary conversion. Unlimited conversions and batch processing require Markdown Converter Pro, described below.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative works of the App, except where permitted by law;
Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App;
Circumvent the free-tier limit, paywall, or other technical restrictions, including by resetting or spoofing local storage or purchase status;
Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or overburden it.

You are responsible for the documents you convert and for having the right to process them.

5. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

The App offers optional paid features ("Markdown Converter Pro") via auto-renewable subscriptions processed by Apple through the App Store.

Price: displayed in the App in your local currency via StoreKit before you confirm

Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. The App also links to Apple's subscription management screen where available.
Restore. If you reinstall the App or change devices, use Restore Purchases (in the App's Settings or on the paywall) while signed in with the same Apple ID.
Prices. Prices are shown in the App before purchase and may vary by region and change over time. Any price change will apply only to future billing periods, subject to Apple's rules and any required notice.
Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with its policies; we generally cannot issue refunds directly. See the Refund Policy and support.apple.com/billing.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, text, and graphics, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding. You retain all rights in the documents you convert. Converted output is yours to use, subject to the rights you already have in the source material.

7. Third-Party Services

The App relies on Apple for distribution, payments, and platform services. If you enable remote-image fetching, the App requests images from hosts named in your documents. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT CONVERTED DOCUMENTS WILL BE COMPLETE, ACCURATE, OR SUITABLE FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE APP, INCLUDING LOSS OF OR ERRORS IN CONVERTED DOCUMENTS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR USD 50, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the App, the documents you convert, or violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. Deleting the App does not cancel an active Apple subscription; you must cancel that separately in your Apple ID settings. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes shall be subject to the competent courts of Serbia, unless mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.

14. Apple-Required Terms

You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us, not Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the App.
